ماهی هامور از ماه های مرغوب و درجه یک جنوب میباشد که طرفداران زیادی دارد. این ماهی دارای گوشت پر مغز، سفت و بسیار خوشمزه و لذیذ است و ارزش غذایی بالایی دارد.

ماهی هامور دارای گوشت با چربی نسبتا” کم و دارای فسفر فراوان است.
این ماهی مانند سایر ماهی های جنوب دارای انواع ویتامین ها ، پروتئین و املاح فراوان است.
ماهی هامور برای سرخ کردن، کبابی و به ویژه تهیه قلیه ماهی استفاده میگردد. برای طبخ خورشت این ماهی با پوست طبخ میشود زیرا دارای لعاب فراوان و کم بو است.
پیشنهاد می شود حداقل یک بار ماهی هامور تازه را به صورت خورشتی یا قلیه مصرف نمایید تا از طمع بی نظیر آن لذت ببرید.
